Exporting a WhatsApp chat
WhatsApp can save an entire conversation as a plain text file. Export it without media — attachments aren't investigated, and the file stays small.
On iPhone
- 01Open WhatsApp and go to the conversation you want investigated.
- 02Tap the contact or group name at the top of the screen.
- 03Scroll down and tap Export Chat.
- 04Choose Without Media — Kyle only reads text.
- 05Save the file to Files, or mail it to yourself.
On Android
- 01Open WhatsApp and go to the conversation you want investigated.
- 02Tap the three dots in the top right, then More.
- 03Tap Export chat.
- 04Choose Without Media — Kyle only reads text.
- 05Save the file to your device, or mail it to yourself.
A note on longer chats
Very long conversations export as a .zip containing a .txt file. Upload the .zip as it is — Kyle opens it himself. He reads the whole thing; years of messages are no problem.
